Match report

The U11 and U10/9 teams played Oakwood school yesterday afternoon.  This was the first match of the season and Oakwood's U11 team were too strong for is.

From the start Oakwood were faster and more accurate.  Lavant worked hard but the opposition was too strong.  On a positive note the team are keen and eager to improve their game in the forthcoming lessons.

The U10 match was close throughout and Lavant led in the second and third quarter.  Oakwood's defence prevented the Lavant shooters from getting the ball into the circle in the last 5 minutes and their tall shooters could not miss.  The final score was 14-10 to Oakwood.

Lavant also played The Royal School on Wednesday afternoon.  The mixed team played well and the teams were very even.  Lavant let their defences slip a little in the final quarter and The Royal took advantage winning by 6 goals to 4.

The U11 team played with confidence and determination from the start.  The Royal team was very tall and the girls were very strong.   Lavant's patterns of play worked really well and the attack and defence linked easily in the centre court.  This was a much improved performance by Lavant.  They deserved their 13 goal to 8 win.
