Match Report

On Tuesday the U11 team played against Alton Convent in a very exciting match yesterday afternoon.  Lavant batted first and were victims of some very slow and inaccurate bowling.  Alton batted well but Lavant's fielding was good, they took 5 players with great catches.  Alton led by 6 and a half to 4 and a half at half time.  Lavant batted well in the second innings scoring an overall 9 and a half rounders.  With great determination in their fielding Lavant again took most of the Alton team with catches and post stumps.  With Alton's last better standing on the square the scores were even.  She hit the ball well but Lavant misfielded to give her a half rounder and the match by 10 to 9 and a half.  On Wednesday a combined U10 and U11 team played at Confiders School, Midhust.  Conifers batted first and scored 5 rounders.  Lavant's fielding was again consistent and they managed to get the team out in 12 minutes.  Lavant batted well and made full use of the half rounder situation.  They led 14 - 5 at half time.  Conifers were better in the second half and managed to score another 5 rounders.  Lavant's batters were more determined to improve their batting in the second innings and they scored some excellent full rounders to win by 23 rounders to 10.  The player of the match was Gabriella Watson from Year 5.

Next Week's Match
