Junior visit to Opticians
Junior visit local Opticians
Year 2 Junior Lavant girls slide on their specs and get to grips with eye testing at Boots Opticians.
The intrigued group visited the popular optician outlet to further their knowledge of eyes and the procedures and equipment used to test them. Many young children are wary of having their eyes tested and the thought of wearing glasses intimidating; but not these young girls! They individually read the letter chart and quizzed a contact lens specialist. To their amazement pictures were taken of their eyeballs and patterns could be clearly seen. Seven year old Lottie Lee is pictured using the expensive machine for her eyeball photograph. The young visitors particularly enjoyed testing out the selection of glasses and sunglasses on offer!
In today's busy lives few of us make the time to have our eyes tested but, as the girls discovered, diseases such as retinotherapy can be easily picked up and treated. The experience has left the girls well informed for future optician visits.
