Rockley 2011

ROCKLEY 2011

Friday 2nd September

The sun was shining this morning and the girls enjoyed kayaking around the lake.  After lunch they went windsailing and played games.  After spending some time by the pool, they had their final feast and read limericks.  They presented the Rockley staff with a signed beachball as a thank you.  The girls played bingo before retiring to bed.

Thursday 1st September

The girls woke after a very stormy night and were all excited about the day ahead.  They sailed in darts all day, stopping for lunch on the other side of the lake, before sailing a tough course back to the camp.  The day ended with an evening of games.

Wednesday 31st August

The action packed day started with an early wake up call at 7.30am.  All the girls completed the high ropes course and were very brave.  They then went to the Aqualand water park, where they enjoyed a variety of exciting rides.   The day finished with a trip to Dune de Pyla sand dunes, where the girls went down the dunes in a variety of ways before having to climb back up to the top!  The sun was shining and the views were incredible.

When they returned to the camp, the Rockley staff had prepared snails, frogs legs and mussels for them to try.  The evening finished with a game of "egg drop" before retiring for a well earned sleep.

Tuesday 30th August

The girls woke up to the hottest day yet!  They started the day with a bike ride through the woods, followed by a relaxing kayak around the lake.  In the afternoon, they enjoyed the sunshine around the pool!  After dinner, they enjoyed raft building, but unfortunately both teams were unsuccessful and they all spent a lot of time in the water!

They are looking forward to doing high ropes, visiting Aqualand and the dunes tomorrow.

Monday 29th August

The girls had a fantastic day sailing in picos.  Although there was little wind in the morning, the girls all picked it up very quickly.  Thankfully the wind picked up after lunch and the girls all sailed well.

After a lovely roast dinner, the girls and Miss Cawte enjoyed an evening of beach games, which resulted in a draw.  The girls are all enjoying a well deserved sleep and looking forward to the activities tomorrow.

Sunday 28th August

The girls woke up to a clear blue sky and were excited about the day ahead.  First, they went mountain biking through the trees to the local village, stopping for an ice-cream along the way, before heading back for lunch.

In the afternoon, the girls tried their hand at wind surfing, but unfortunately there was no wind, so they consoled themselves with pontoon jumping and resting by the pool!  They finished the day with a quiz.

They are looking forward to pico sailing tomorrow.

Saturday 27th August

The girls and staff all arrived safely after a long journey.  They went straight onto the lake, sailing in the glorious sunshine.  They have also had a swim and been playing volleyball.

They are looking forward to mountain biking and windsurfing tomorrow.
