Surprise at Lavant House as 007 joins guests at the Summer Ball

The Summer Ball at Lavant House is always eagerly anticipated by girls in Year 11 and the Sixth Form and this year's James Bond theme promised some imaginative twists. But no-one expected the noise of gun fire followed by the appearance of a brand new Aston Martin being driven by Piers Brosnan, or at least someone who looked very like him! A beautifully decorated marquee with a real red carpet entrance, enormous martini glasses full of red and white flowers, a delicious meal, a casino, a wonderful band and DJ and fireworks completed a memorable evening. Headmistress, Mrs Kate Bartholomew, said "Many thanks to Miles and Susie Peckham and the Sixth Form team.  The girls had a fabulous evening and my only worry is how we can beat it next year!"
