Tag Rugby Tournament Win
On Thursday 26th May Lavant House travelled to Chichester High School for Girls to compete in the KS3 Tag Rugby West Sussex West Tournament. Four schools entered including Wetsergate, Chichester High School, The Regis and Lavant.
Lavant House played their first game against last years' winners Westergate. Lavant played well and won the match 4-3. Lavant then drew 5-5 with Chichester High School and 4-4 with The Regis. Having won one game and drawn the other two, Lavant were in the final against Chichester High School. The game was fast paced and evenly matched. With the score at 3-3 at half time the girls went back on, determined to win the shield. With some excellent tries scored, Lavant owned the game 6-5 with the winning try being scored in the final 10 seconds by Victoria Voller.
The girls each won a gold medal along with prizes including keyrings and pens. It was an excellent tournament and the level of Rugby was fantastic from all schools. The Lavant House team consisted of: Jessica Breach (Captain), Megan Adams, Libby Swan, Imogen Terry, Olivia Cassar, Beverly Voller, Victoria Voller, Natalya Fagerlund, Hope Edwards, Charlotte Oliver and Rhiannon Phelps. Well done girls, an excellent win achieved from your determination and commitment in training.
