Lavant House achieve a double victory in the West Sussex West Netball Tournaments
Lavant House entered and won both the Year 7 and Year 8 West Sussex West Netball tournaments last week. Within each tournament, 10 local schools had entered a team and there was a lot of great opposition.
On Tuesday 8th March the Year 8 Lavant House Netball team went to Bourne Community College to play in the prestigious tournament. There were two groups playing to get into the semi finals of the tournament. Lavant House came second in their group having beaten Bishop Luffa B, Felpham and Westergate but sadly losing to Seaford. We met Bishop Luffa A in the semi final and this proved to be a very equal match in ability. The score was 5-5 at full time resulting in two minutes extra time being played. Lavant played well and won the extra time 4-2. Lavant met Seaford again in the final and with some excellent attacking and defending play by the whole team, Lavant won the tournament and the trophy.
On Thursday 10th March the year 7 Lavant House Netball team went to Bourne Community College to try and match the year 8's success. Lavant House came top of their group by winning all of their games 11-0, 13-0, 8-0 and 7-0. Lavant met The Bourne in the semi final and although Lavant went 1-0 down, they worked hard and managed to win the game 5-2. Lavant met Bishop Luffa A in the final and although Bishop Luffa had some excellent players, Lavant worked hard and were unstoppable. Lavant House won the game 5-2 and won the whole tournament.
Well done girls, you all played brilliantly and are a credit to Lavant House.
