Lavant House School - Independent school for girls

Paris

Paris Trip October 2010

"Paris, je t'aime!"

Just before half term a group of Lavant House pupils and staff took the Eurotunnel to France, to experience the sights and sounds of Paris.  Our hotel was just off Place de la République and we were driven to various different locations by Bill and Steve, our coach drivers.

Thursday's itinerary was quite an ambitious one: ascent of the Eiffel Tower, tour of the Louvre, visit to the Sacré Coeur, souvenir shopping in Montmartre, then a quick birthday tea (for Millie!) back at the hotel, followed by dinner at the Hard Rock Café and a Seine River Cruise in the evening!

Friday morning saw a Lavant "photo shoot" below the Arc de Triomphe, before a final visit to one of Paris's biggest department stores.  Laden with macaroons and other goodies we began the journey home.

Throughout their stay, the girls made the most of many opportunities to put their classroom French into practice, as well as learning much about the culture and history of Paris and France.  The diaries and scrapbooks that they made on their return, will be a life-long reminder of what a fabulous time we had; the girls were an absolute joy to be with and were wonderful ambassadors for the school.
