Lavant House School - Independent school for girls

Subjects including Business Studies

Girls joining Lavant House from overseas follow the same syllabus as the rest of the school.

In the Ist to IIIrd forms, we offer a broad general education based on the British National Curriculum, together with specialist English teaching, tailored to the individual needs of the student. In the IVth and Vth forms, a full range of GCSE subjects are taught by specialist teaching staff, with additional help if required.

Our small, lively Sixth Form offers an enviable range of ‘A' level subjects including Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics, Psychology, ICT, Art, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Classical Civilisation, Spanish, Geography, History, Latin, Classical Civilisation, Drama, PE, Media Studies, Communications and Culture, French.

It is usual to take three or four subjects to start with, moving to three subjects in the final year. All students are expected to have a broad GCSE profile before moving on to ‘A' levels. This is important for many reasons, not least university entrance.
