Lavant House School - Independent school for girls

Pastoral care

Pastoral Care

Lavant House recognises that for the boarding experience to work properly there must be an element of trust between the parents, child and staff.

Our extended family offers the support, security, friendships and independence for each girl. Girls feel that they belong centrally to their own family, as well as their boarding house family.

The relationships that are forged within the boarding house amongst pupils and staff help to promote the personal and social development of the girls.

Good working and caring relationships are based on trust between staff, girls and parents.

Housestaff meet parents and talk to them on the telephone on a regular basis.

The housestaff office is a multi-functional space which has a welcoming feel to girls and parents.

Endless cups of tea and cakes are consumed at the end of each week, exeats, half-terms and especially at the end of term when some last minute packing is being done.

Special Occasions

Each term has its special outings such as activity days out, theatre trips, London trips etc. The highlight of the Christmas term is our very special Christmas party. It is a magical evening which is always enjoyed by all who attend.

The Spring term special events is the Easter Egg Hunt and the summer term is a special week night camp out.
