Pastoral Care
Students' progress in all areas of the School is supported by our strong pastoral system. The School aims to provide the kind of support that allows every student to flourish and grow to their full potential, not only in academic terms, but also as well rounded young adults ready to face the demands and challenges of a rapidly changing international world.
We expect students to grow to understand themselves as individuals, their relationships with others, and to participate in society as informed, competent, and caring people.
Our pastoral care scheme encourages girls to meet and help the younger girls on a regular basis with Sixth form mentors being assigned to Years 7, 8 and 9. This interaction between the age groups benefits all and develops the community spirit we aim to foster. At such a crucial stage in education, the tutorial system is continued into the Sixth Form because it is imperative that students are given as much help and guidance as possible. To provide this, each student is assigned a personal tutor with whom she meets individually at regular intervals. The assigned tutor monitors academic progress, discusses report comments and provides advice and encouragement as and when needed. Good communication between home and school is encouraged and monthly grade sheets are sent home to parents.
