Music: Choirs, Concerts, Individual Instruments and Singing

The music department occupies one of the most elegant rooms in the main House. Class lessons take place here as well as recitals, choir rehearsals and individual lessons.

We aim to create a warm, friendly atmosphere where performing is encouraged. There are several chamber concerts each year when skills learnt from the growing number of visiting teachers can be shared and enjoyed. Junior and senior pupils regularly prepare musical entertainments for their parents at the end of term.

We have recently started a string quartet and small orchestra and we anticipate that these will perform at important school occasions as well as in the local area. Watch out Chichester!

Piano, recorder, clarinet, flute, guitar, singing, brass and drum lessons are available in school time, and all the girls in the Senior School are welcomed to sing in the choir.
